This year the meeting will take place at Crieff Hydro Hotel and will offer an extensive and varied programme which will be of interest to all specialist and health care professionals involved in heart disease.

On the Thursday morning delegates attending the SHARP meeting are invited to attend the morning sessions of the Scottish Lipid Forum. Prior to lunch the SHARP meeting will open with a keynote presentation.

The sponsored Satellite Symposium on Thursday afternoon will address coronary atherosclerosis and long term risk, PEGASUS study, interaction between the Scottish Ambulance Service and primary care when a patient presents with ACS as well as new developments in cardiac rehabilitation. The theme of coronary artery disease management will continue on Friday morning looking specifically at the burden of disease in Scotland and management issues in both primary and secondary care. Our interactive workshops will cover how to manage the management of chest pain, breathless, cardiac medication, interpret ECGs and develop clinical skills.

The afternoon sessions will reflect on current research, clinical audit and good practice across Scotland. We will have the SHARP research presentations and prize as well as a prize for best AHP poster. The meeting will finish with a keynote speaker addressing the future management of coronary artery disease over the next 5 years. Speakers over the two days will include Professor Dave Newby, Professor Keith Oldroyd, Professor Ahmet Fuat, Professor Craig Whyte, Mr Iain Speirits, Dr Colin Stirrat, Dr Alan Japp, Mrs Frances Divers, Mr Paul Kelly, Miss Emily Woodcock, Professor Chim Lang and Dr Stuart Hutcheon.
